Disruptr Of The Month
Meet Chuah Di Ken, CEO of Pingspace
Disruptr: Chuah Di Ken, CEO of Pingspace
What inspired you to start the business?
I started Pingspace, a robotics warehouse startup that build robotics storage system for warehouses use.
Pingspace was built with a purpose enabling fast delivery in e-commerce industry. We hope to push the industry standard of 3-5 days to next day then to same day delivery. Within this supply chain, warehouse and sorting centers are the rate determining factor. The faster the warehouse can process an order, the faster it handed over the delivery partners. That’s why we want to solve the warehouse problem first.
What has the journey been like?
Excruciating but fulfilling. There are a lot of ups and downs when running this startup, mostly downs as we are dealing with a lot of experimentations. We thought that this could work but in the end it doesn’t so we need to go back to drawing board.
Biggest achievement and what is one regret that you wish you had or had not done?
My biggest achievement to date is leading a team to build up the entire robotics system from scratch within 3 years.
Where do you see yourself in the next 1 year?
We hope to commercialise our robotics system in Malaysia as well as in Singapore. At the same time building up a platform for our partners to be easily integrated to us.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years, we hope to expand the business throughout Asia and US with more products in our ecosystem to further improve the warehouse efficiency.
What keeps you going to keep running the business?
The vision of having same day delivery in the world of e-commerce is what fuels me to build a better and faster robotics storage system that can be used throughout the warehouses.
What is one local startup you would like to work together with and why?
We would like to work with startup that has strong computer vision AI expertise to build robotics arm for automated picking.
Who is one founder (local or international) that you look up to?
Elon Musk
Why should investors invest in your startup?
We have a great technical team to develop our product and executives with diverse experience in warehousing industry.
Pingspace is also a member of 25 Startups, a startup incubator with presence in Sarawak, Penang, Cyberjaya and Johor.
