Here’s How GK Aqua’s Founder Is Set On Reviving Malaysia’s Freshwater Prawn Industry
Large freshwater prawns or commonly known as Udang Galah in Malaysia is one of most sought-after delicacies in the country, whether its fried or added as an ingredient for a gravy, this species of prawns have definitely made its mark as an in-demand delicacy not only by Malaysians but also by our neighbours.
Interestingly enough, Malaysia has been noted as the first country in the world to breed these freshwater prawns both successfully and commercially since the 1960s. However, with demand rising for aquaculture worldwide, countries in the region have also stepped-up production the rising demand.
According to founder and chief executive officer of GK Aqua, Giva Kuppusamy says the demand for freshwater demand in the country alone is 2700MT, where 90 percent are imported to meet local demand.

Pantas and UKM To Develop Climate Transition Equity Index For Companies In Emerging Markets
Fintech startup, Pantas and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to develop carbon accounting software and a climate transition equity index for companies in emerging markets.
By leveraging on the proprietary data collected by Pantas’ e-invoicing software and the carbon emission factors co-developed with UKM Institute of Climate Change, companies will be able to seamlessly calculate, monitor and disclose their GHG emissions without a change in their business workflow.

K-Startup Grand Challenge Returns For 7th Year With A Focus On SEA & ANZ Startups
Startup accelerator programme, K-Startup Grand Challenge (KSGC), supported by the South Korean government is returning for its 7th year.
This time around, the programme aims at bringing international startups, with a focus on SEA and ANZ startups.
Applications opened on 15 April 2022 and will close on 31 May 2022 for startups keen on the opportunity to work and build a strong foundation in South Korea

GrandTech, a Digital eXperience Operator (DXO) providing cloud services and various digital experience solutions, has partnered with AC Ventures Malaysia by committing to be a strategic limited partner in the Southeast Asia Frontier Fund LP (SEAFF), a recipient of the Dana Penjana Nasional fund of funds programme.
